This ring is my new favorite, like embroidery around your finger (I am wearing on my middle) but not dinky at all; this ring has weight to it. My favorite of Janyl's designs are those with patterns that go around the band.
The stone is so rare, unique. Beryl is akin to emerald and aquamarine, but is yellow. I feel like someday these will be as popular as the once unknown yellow sapphire. I don't own a yellow sapphire, but I do orange ones and they don't sparkle nearly as much. In some light, it is sun-yellow. In others there are hues of goldenrod and even olive (the more olive of these stones are called "helidor" as opposed to "golden beryl" which has less of the green and more of the gold.
The cut is absolutely dreamy. The top is a smooth dome which is used a lot in men's rings to increase durability (the stone is already an 8 though on the moh's hardness scale). The dome allows fascinating light and color play. I've observed gorgeous shifts depending on the light with dancing sparkles.
This is a treasure.
