Prehnite, a calcium aluminum silicate mineral, was first discovered in the 18th century and named after Colonel Hendrik von Prehn. It is notable for being the first mineral named after a person. It typically has a light green to yellow-green color and a translucent appearance. The most valuable prehnite gemstones are those with vibrant green hues and few inclusions. A distinctive feature of prehnite is its pearly to vitreous luster, which gives it a dreamlike quality.

Use a soft cloth to gently wipe clean the item you wish to clean. Remove any remaining impurities with mild diluted soap. Rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly before storing away. Do not use abrasive cleaners, steamers or ultrasonic machines. Do not submerge or clean any of our gemstones with liquid cleaners.
